Marine and Coastal Ecology of the Indo-Pacific: The Thailand Project.
Southwest Asia's offshore habitat is one of the most diverse tropical marine life ecosystems anywhere on earth. There are hundreds of species of fishm coral, and invertebrates weaving a delicate and complex habitat. Over the course of 6 weeks, I will join others in an ecological survey of key habitats along the coast and offshore islands of southern Thailand as well as the peninsular part of Malaysia. In addition, sources of human impact and preservation efforts will be explored and assessed.
